You don’t have to do this alone. Whether you're navigating depression, trauma, grief, anxiety, or relationship struggles, it’s easy to feel isolated. But the truth is—you are not the only one going through it. At Healthier You in American Fork, UT, our group therapy sessions create a space where people come together to share, learn, support, and heal as a community.
Group therapy can be one of the most powerful tools for healing, offering both professional guidance and peer connection. Sometimes, just hearing “me too” is enough to change everything.

Why Choose Group Therapy?
You might feel nervous about opening up to a group at first. That’s normal. But many people find that after a single session, the group becomes a safe place to be vulnerable, ask questions, and feel less alone.
Benefits of Group Therapy Include:
- Gaining perspective from others who "get it"
- Practicing real-time communication and coping skills
- Receiving and offering encouragement
- Learning that your struggles are valid—and shared
- Lower cost compared to individual therapy
- Support between individual therapy sessions
Group therapy isn’t about sharing your deepest secrets with strangers. It’s about shared healing, guided by a licensed therapist, in a space where growth happens organically.
Our Current Therapy Groups
We offer several therapy groups throughout the year—both ongoing and time-limited formats. Each group is led by a licensed therapist and may include psychoeducation, structured discussion, and open sharing.
Here are some of our most common offerings:
Layers of Love
Creating Connections in Couples. A date night style marriage group, based out in the community. Focusing on skills in communication, trust, teamwork and more.
Gottman
Strengthening Marriage experience focuses on John Gottman’s Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work. Enhancing your love maps, nurturing fondness and admiration, turning toward each other, letting your partner influence you, solving problems, overcoming gridlock, and creating shared meaning. This class is perfect for any couple despite the length or strength of their marriage currently.
oundaries
An in-office group addressing boundaries. Learn what they are and how to make them work in your life. This group is recommended to all women and is a great sister group to our DBT group.
DBT
A skills based group to help you create a “life worth living”. Skills include: mindfulness, distress tolerance, interpersonal relationships & emotional regulation.
👉 Group offerings vary based on demand and season.

What Happens in a Group Therapy Session?
Each session is different depending on the type of group—but the common thread is intentional, guided healing in a small group setting.
What You Can Expect:
- A licensed facilitator keeping things safe, structured, and judgment-free
- Opportunities to speak—but never pressure to share
- Activities, prompts, or discussion topics tailored to the group
- Confidentiality agreements among all members
- Groups typically run 60–90 minutes, once per week.
Our groups are designed to complement—not replace—individual therapy. You can be in both at the same time for even deeper growth.
Is Group Therapy Right For Me?
If you're asking the question, the answer is probably yes.
Many clients start with individual therapy and later join a group for broader support. Others begin with a group to explore their comfort with therapy in general.
Group therapy may be especially helpful if:
- You feel alone in your struggle and crave connection.
- You want to learn how others are managing similar issues.
- You're working through trauma, grief, anxiety, or low self-worth.
- You want more affordable mental health support.
- You're seeking accountability in a healing journey.
We’re In This Together
There’s something uniquely healing about being in a room with people who truly understand—not because they read a book about it, but because they’ve lived it too.
At Healthier You, we believe that healing happens in relationship—with ourselves, with others, and in community. Group therapy creates a bridge between isolation and belonging.
If you’re ready to explore what that might look like for you, we’re here.
