Therapists

Mary Jane “Janey” Nelson, LCSW
Clinical Director | Master ART Practitioner
I am the owner and clinical director of Healthier You Counseling Center and have been a therapist for about 20 years. I was one of the first Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) practitioners in Utah, being trained in 2017 and master trained in 2019. In 2024, I trained in Critical Memory Integration (CMI) and am on their leadership training team.
One of my passions is helping others discover their best selves. I do this by creating healthy relationships with clients in individual, marriage, family, and group therapy. I help facilitate empowerment retreats for women and couples. Due to marriage and family being so important to me, I run Gottman and Layers of Love relationship groups. Additionally, I facilitate other groups as the need arises.
One of my greatest beliefs is that it is important to love everyone, no matter the circumstances. I try to show that love by practicing kindness, which I believe is honest, assertive, respectful, and loving. It is this belief that helps me connect with my clients and develop the bonds of trust that allow them to grow.
To add to my professional experience, I am a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. I was a foster parent for more than 22 years, and during that time I was awarded Utah’s Child Advocate of the Year. I love to cook and enjoy nature, quilting, jewelry making, and many other hobbies. I find peace as I sit down to create. I practice mindfulness daily in each of these activities, and they keep me grounded and in touch with myself.

Harmony Packer, MSW, LCSW
Harmony has been a practicing therapist since 2018 and a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) since 2021. She is passionate about the capacity of humans to grow and heal and loves nothing more than seeing relief in clients’ eyes when they understand something in a new way or get unstuck from a place of suffering. She believes that when you seek therapy, you are making a courageous investment in your own well-being. She seeks to respect your journey by working within the framework of your values to help you meet your goals. Her goal is to provide a warm and trusting relationship in which your growth and healing can occur.
Harmony specializes in treating trauma, anxiety, and depression. She is an IFS (Internal Family Systems)-informed therapist and a Master ART (Accelerated Resolution Therapy) practitioner and is also trained in Critical Memory Integration (CMI). She has experience with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), DBT skills training, art therapy, mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR), mental health for first responders, suicide prevention, school social work, and treating grief and loss.
She earned a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from Brigham Young University and two bachelor’s degrees—one in social work from Utah Valley University and one in family science from Brigham Young University.
In Harmony’s free time, she enjoys walking, hiking, mountain biking, camping, singing, reading, learning/continuing education, and eating Thai food on a regular basis. She treasures time with family and friends, is active in her faith, and serves in her community.

Jen George, CSW
My purpose is to help people learn to experience abiding peace regardless of what has or will happen to them and to become their own master therapists. I guide clients in discovering core issues driving distress and trauma responses so healing can be experienced thoroughly, deeply, and enduringly.
I have degrees in Social Work (MS ’24), Marriage, Family, & Human Development (MS ’07), and Exercise Science (BS ’04). My training includes Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Critical Memory Integration (CMI), Growth Climate/Intuitive Relationships, Process Communication Model (PCM), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I have specific experience working with trauma, anxiety and depression, narcissists in relationships, sexual abuse, psychosis, early return missionaries, and performance psychology. I enjoy working with people of every age.
I am mother to three teenagers, previously coached competitive swimming for 10 years, and relish swimming long open-water races (though I only really like them when I’m done). My geeky hobbies include being a mad scientist in the kitchen creating soap and lotion (and sometimes dinner). I am a creator and truth seeker. Your story and struggles are safe here.

Marja Damon, ACMHC
My journey into counseling was guided by a deep spiritual calling to serve others. I have always felt a strong inner pull to be there for those in need, helping them find peace and clarity. As a therapist, I am deeply passionate about helping others navigate their personal challenges and find their own paths to healing. I believe everyone has the capacity to create meaningful change in their lives, and my role is to guide and support them in that journey. I enjoy engaging in conversations that allow my clients to explore their struggles, and together, we work toward finding practical solutions. It’s incredibly rewarding for me to see people gain relief, confidence, and strength as they begin to help themselves.
After my two boys were grown, I went back to school in 2020 to earn my MS degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and an MS degree in School Counseling. I graduated with both in 2022 and am now working full-time as a licensed professional school counselor in a middle school and working part-time for full licensure as a clinical mental health counselor. I am a trained Accelerated Resolution Therapist (ART) and specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, though I also incorporate other therapeutic modalities to best meet the unique needs of my clients.
My life feels enriched through a balance of quality time with my husband and boys, where we can create lasting memories together, especially through travel. Other ways that help me connect to myself and keep me grounded are being out in nature, exercising, reading, and serving others.

Moe Peck, Executive Administrator
Hey! My name is Moe Peck. I have been with Healthier You for the last 2 years and the office manager for the last year. I was hired on as a life coach, then learned the front desk and billing. I spend my days chatting with the clients, assisting the front desk and billing as needed, representing Healthier You in the community and at mental health events, and generally keeping everything running as smoothly as possible. Before coming to the mental health field, I owned and operated my child care business for over 2 decades. I love people.
I am married and have 4 children and 2 daughters-in-law. If I’m not at the office, you can find me outside, either at the lake, up the mountains, or in a hammock. I am passionate about spending time at the gym, either lifting weights or doing Zumba. My favorite thing to do is spend time with my husband and kiddos.
